Palworld server guide: join, mods, settings and fixes
Updated 31 October 2026 · 3 minute read · Palworld · By Exclsv Support
Everything you need to run your Palworld server in HQ, in one page.
Join
- Open Palworld and choose Join Multiplayer Game.
- Paste the address from your server’s Join page at the bottom of the server list and choose Connect.
- Enter the server password.
Xbox and PlayStation 5 can’t type an address: they search the community servers for your server’s name. Turn on the platforms under Game settings, Server.
Mods
No mods: Palworld’s server mods only run on the Windows server, and we run the Linux one.
Settings
Open Settings, then Game settings. Each setting has a plain label, one line of help and the game’s own default where HQ knows it. Most changes take effect at the next restart; HQ marks the ones that change straight away. Palworld runs the current build only.
Backups and going back
HQ takes an hourly backup (Automatic backups) and keeps each for up to 48 hours, plus an off-site backup every 6 hours with 7 daily copies. To go back, open Backups, then Automatic backups, pick a time and choose Go back. Your world as it is now is kept, so you can undo it.
If it doesn’t work
Settings don’t apply
A WorldOption.sav file overrides your settings. See the Palworld settings guide.
Memory keeps growing
Palworld uses more memory the longer it runs. Add the suggested restart every 4 hours under Schedules.
“Incorrect password”
The password is case sensitive. Copy it from Settings.
